Newcastle agree fee for Hoffenheim's Toure

Newcastle have agreed a fee with Hoffenheim for winger Bazoumana Toure.

They are in advanced talks with the German club for the Ivory Coast international, but a deal yet to be finalised. 

All going well, Toure is set to be the first of multiple new signings through the door at Newcastle, following the 170m double sale of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali. 

Tonali fee will allow Newcastle to strengthen in more than one position

Newcastle feel that its a strong fee for Sandro Tonali and believe they are very likely to achieve the full 100m. 

The feeling is this will enable the club to strengthen with high potential in more than one position. 

It is the club second biggest sale, behind the 125m Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak.

Pompey sign Bailey

Portsmouth have completed their first signing of the summer by bringing in midfielder Odin Bailey.

The 26-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at Fratton Park after leaving Stockport at the end of last season.

Spurs set to smash through 200m on transfers

Spurs are set to spend a combined 185m on Sandro Tonali and Matheus Fernandes.

Their summer spend once these deals go through will be 237m. 

They have already splashed out on Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for 52m. They signed Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka on free transfers.

Tonali is expected to earn more than 275,000 per week at Spurs. He had interest from elsewhere, like Manchester City, but was keen to work under Roberto De Zerbi. 

Earlier on Wednesday, Spurs agreed to sell Luka Vuskovic to Brighton in a deal worth up to 50m.

Gunn in talks over MLS move

Scotland international Angus Gunn is in talks with MLS club San Jose Earthquakes.

The 30-year-old is a free agent after his contract at Nottingham Forest came to an end, and has been considering various options ahead of next season.

While no deal has been finalised, Gunn will be hoping to play more regularly this season, having featured for just 45 minutes at Forest during the last campaign.

The goalkeeper who has 25 caps for Scotland - impressed at the World Cup, where he started all three group stage games.

Gunn - who also played for the likes of Norwich City, Southampton and Stoke - has around 200 appearances at club level.
