Butland set to join Hull from Rangers with Pandur moving the other way

Latest from Your Site News' Sahil Jaidka:

Goalkeeper Ivor Pandur is set to join Rangers from Hull City in a move worth around 6m.

In a separate deal, Jack Butland is set to depart Ibrox for Hull in a 3m switch.

Pandur, 26, moved to Hull City in 2024 and played in all but one Championship game last season, plus kept clean sheets in both play-off semi-finals and the final as Premier League promotion was secured.

He is currently at the World Cup with Croatia but is expected to join the Ibrox club for the new season.

Butland moved to Glasgow in 2023 and has made over 150 appearances for Rangers, having previously been at several English clubs including Stoke City, Crystal Palace and Man Utd.

'Ex-Chelsea boss Rosenior in talks to become Paris FC head coach'

Former Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior is in talks to become the new Paris FC head coach, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It is claimed that the ex-Strasbourg boss is in negotiations over a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 club as he plans a return to France.

Rosenior was sacked by Chelsea in April after just 106 days in charge.

He managed just 11 wins in 23 matches across all competitions in a disastrous three months in charge at Stamford Bridge.

But the 41-year-old looks set for a quick return to the dugout to replace Antoine Kombouare as Paris FC boss.

'Everton close in on Hackney signing'

Everton are closing in on the 25m signing of Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, according to The Telegraph.

There is reportedly an expectation that a deal could be finalised this week.

Your Site News reported Everton wanted to sign a new defensive midfielder this summer and had an initial approach knocked back by Boro earlier in June.

The Toffees were one of several clubs monitoring Hackney, including Tottenham, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace.

Palace remain interested in Toulouse defender Cresswell

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas and Amar Mehta:

Crystal Palace are another club to have carried their January interest in Toulouse defender Charlie Cresswell into this summer.

The South London club have had an enquiry from Chelsea for Maxence Lacroix and may therefore need to sign at least one new centre-back.

Palace never actually replaced Marc Guehi when he joined Manchester City in January.

Ex-Leeds and Millwall defender Cresswell is believed to remain high on Palaces list of target centre-backs.

They are also understood to have an interest in Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare, who worked there with new head coach Pierre Sage.

Palace are also understood to be monitoring Harvey Elliotts situation at Liverpool

Elliott will be given the chance to stake his claim in the Liverpool squad under new head coach Andoni Iraola.

PSG's Barcola among Liverpool's Diomande alternatives

Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola features highly among the options Liverpool are considering as an alternative to their top winger target Yan Diomande

PSG are negotiating Diomandes transfer with RB Leipzig after he indicated his preference to join the French and European champions.

Diomande has been Liverpools top target, but they have not been prepared to meet Leipzigs valuation.

The German club want significantly more than the 86m Liverpool were willing to pay.

Liverpool have already signed winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna and are now exploring their options as they execute their plans to replace Mohamed Salah

Barcolas future at PSG is uncertain due to his frustrations about being overlooked for selection in the big games namely the Champions League final win against Arsenal.

Your Site News reported earlier this month that Barcola could leave PSG this summer if he is still unhappy about his situation when he returns from the World Cup with France.

PSG ideally want to keep hold of the 23-year-old but will not stand in his way if he wishes to move on and a club meets their valuation. The Ligue 1 club will not let him go on the cheap.

Barcola has two years left on his contract, which makes this the ideal time for PSG to cash in on the player if he refuses to extend his deal.

Arsenal have also been keeping an eye on Barcola, but as it stands, their priority for the left-wing position appears to be Morgan Rogers at Aston Villa.

Clarke says it was time to step away from Scotland job

Steve Clarke said it was a straightforward decision to step down from his role as Scotland head coach because he always planned to depart if the World Cup did not go to plan.

The shock announcement came exactly a month after he signed a new four-year contract that would have incorporated Euro 2028 and the 2030 World Cup.

In a Scottish Football Association interview, he said: Listen, what I wanted to make sure was that when I felt it was time to step away, it was time to step away.

Signing the contract before (the World Cup) was a case of trying to give a little bit of comfort to the players knowing that we could continue the journey.

I always had in my head that if we didnt come out of the group, which is something that weve tried to do across three tournaments now, I always had in my head that if that didnt happen then it was probably the right time to step away.

Obviously if wed managed to get that extra point and got out of the group then Id probably have stayed on and tried to do another tournament.

Asked if it was an easy decision, Clarke said: Yeah, in some respects it was easy because I already had in my head what I wanted to achieve as a head coach. Id also ticked all the boxes.

I wanted to go to a major tournament with my country. I did that with the Euros. The first Euros (in 2021) was a little bit not the Euros because it was Covid affected.

The second Euros was great. The tournament didnt go as we wanted but getting to Germany was fantastic. My lifelong ambition was to do a World Cup with my country. Ive done that, so not a bad time to step aside.
