The top stories and transfer rumours from Monday's newspapers...

PSG in talks over Leipzig's Diomande

Latest from Your Site News' Amar Mehta and Philipp Hinze:

Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with RB Leipzig over a move for Liverpool target Yan Diomande.

Your Site News understands the teenager has indicated a preference to join the European and French champions.

Liverpool had been willing to pay 86m, but Leipzig want significantly more.

Liverpool have been reluctant to go any higher than that, which appears to give PSG a clear run at the winger.

So far, PSG and Leipzig have not reached an agreement but negotiations are ongoing. The French club have a contract agreed with Diomande until 2031.

Irrespective of the players preference, a deal must be struck with Leipzig for the transfer to proceed.

Man City have also been monitoring the situation.

Chelsea's 8m Xhaka bid rejected

Latest from Your Site News' Dharmesh Sheth, Kaveh Solhekol and Keith Downie:

Sunderland have rejected Chelseas 8m offer for Granit Xhaka, insisting he is not for sale.

Chelsea are reluctant to pay more than 8m considering Xhaka will be 34 in September, and they feel it is good value for a player his age.

Sunderland are aware of the midfielders desire to play for Xabi Alonso again, where he won the Bundesliga at Bayer Leverkusen.

But they are in a strong position financially, and Xhaka has two years left on his contract.

Xhaka is the type of experienced Premier League midfielder Chelsea are looking for in this window.

He captained Sunderland to 7th and a Europa League spot last season in their first back in the Premier League.

Rangers agree Godfrey loan

Latest from Your Site News' Dharmesh Sheth and Sahil Jaidka:

Rangers have agreed a deal with Atalanta to sign defender Ben Godfrey on loan.

Your Site News revealed on Saturday he had completed a medical ahead of a season-long switch.

The Englishman moved to the Serie A club from Everton in 2024.

He has been on loan at Ipswich, Sheffield United and Brondby since then.

It is expected there is a significant option to buy included in the deal which is set to be announced on Monday.

Como make 23m offer for Chalobah

Latest from Sky in Italy's Gianluca Di Marzio:

Como have made 23.3m offer to Chelsea for Trevoh Chalobah, according to Sky in Italy.

The offer includes bonuses. Chelsea are asking for a total package of around 30m for the defender, with talks continuing between the two clubs.

Your Site News reported Como's initial inquiry for Chalobah last week.

Chalobah, who made 47 appearances for Chelsea last season and scored three goals, is currently on World Cup duty with England.

Chesnokov leaves Hearts

Islam Chesnokov has left Hearts to return to his former club FC Tobol

The winger makes the move back to Kazakhstan for an undisclosed fee.

Chesnokov made 11 appearances for Hearts after his arrival in January, scoring one goal.

"The club wishes Islam well for the future," Hearts said in a statement.

Aberdeen clinch signing of Moroccan striker

Aberdeen have signed Moroccan striker Ayoub Mouloua from FUS Rabat for an undisclosed fee

The 23-year-old has signed a three-year contract with an option for a fourth after completing his medical at Cormack Park.

Mouloua becomes Stephen Robinson's eighth permanent recruit of the summer transfer window.

"We have been tracking Ayoub for several months now and have made a number of trips to Morocco to watch him play and get a real feel for the type of player and person he is," said Robinson.

"He's a brave, aggressive striker who will give us a real physical presence in attack, but he's much more than that.

"He's mobile, works tirelessly for the team and has shown he knows where the goal is.

"When I got the chance to speak with him, it was clear he was hungry for the opportunity to join Aberdeen and take the next step in his career."

The move is subject to international clearance and visa formalities.

Brighton agree deal to sign Struijk from Leeds

Latest from Your Site News' Zinny Boswell and Elliot Cook:

Brighton have verbally agreed a deal with Leeds to sign centre-back Pascal Struijk.

Leeds sources have told Your Site News the fee is undisclosed, but it is understood to be around 20m.

Struijk played a key role in keeping Leeds up on their return to the Premier League and they did not want to lose him, but the defender was entering the final year of his deal and this was their last chance to cash in on him.

Brighton sold centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke to Spurs for 52m but he is right footed and Struijk is a left-sided defender which suggests he is not a direct replacement.

Brighton are also pursuing a move for Spurs defender Luka Vuskovic and their last offer was worth 45m. They also have an interest in Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor.

'Newcastle to offer Bruno new contract'

Newcastle are preparing to offer Bruno Guimaraes a bumper new contract to keep him at St James' Park amid interest from Arsenal, according to The Sun.

The Brazil international is already the club's highest-paid player on 160,000 per week, the newspaper reports, but the club are willing to offer him an increase to 200,000 per week.

as the Premier League champions look to bolster their midfield.

While there has been no official club-to-club contact, it's thought an informal proposal was rejected via intermediaries.

Newcastles position is that they do not want to sell the 28-year-old, who is under contract until 2028, and will not welcome bids.

Bruno is one of a number of midfielders Arsenal have been looking at with an expectation there will be arrivals and departures in that position this summer.

Newcastle are interested in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, with Bruno's midfield partner Sandro Tonali also the subject of interest from elsewhere.

Tuchel: High chance Anderson's Man City move done next week

England boss Thomas Tuchel has spoken about Elliot Anderson performance's performance in Saturday night's 2-0 win over Panama - and his impending transfer to Man City.

"I think there's a high chance it's sorted before the round of 32," he said.

"He plays like he owns the place.

"There were no concerns [over fitness], the medical staff gave the green light, he has no injury."
